Delayed 3D release of Ra.One? - Latest Bollywood News

RA.ONE is the most-awaited movie right now and everything pertaining to the film is making news these days. While the makers are working round-the-clock to ensure that the film hits the screens on Wednesday, 26 October, a section of the media has reported that the 3D version of the film will arrive a week later, i.e. on 4 November. Meaning, the film will have a global release, as per schedule, on 26 October, but since the 3D conversion is taking time, the film will be released in the 3D version a week later.

Anubhav Sinha, the director of the biggie, laughs aloud when I pose this question. "No way! The 3D version is also releasing on 26 October. We are working day and night to ensure that we deliver on time. Shah Rukh has had a serious discussion with the team and we are confident that the film will be released in 3D simultaneously. There's no delay at all." Sunil Lulla of Eros too rubbishes the rumors. "We will definitely meet the deadline of Diwali. Yes, RA.ONE is arriving in all its glory in 3D on 26 October," he sets the record straight. That should put the rum, ors to rest!

With 'Ra.One' touted to cross the 100-crore mark at the box office as it releases this Diwali,Kareena Kapoor is staring at her fourth film to achieve such a feat and the actress says it is great that her films are competing with each other.

Her earlier films '3 Idiots', 'Golmaal 3' and 'Bodyguard' grossed more than Rs 100 crores and 'Ra.One' might become Kareena's fourth film to break the box office record, making her the only actor in the history of Indian cinema to achieve this feat.

"It is a wonderful stint to be a part of. To have suchgreat successes like '3 Idiots', 'Golmaal 3' and 'Bodyguard' with Aamir, Ajay and Salman is a wonderful thing. Now with Shahrukh, I am looking forward to 'Ra. One'.

"I keep hearing all such fantabulous box office figures every now and then. If 'Ra.One' indeed manages to do as well as predicted, then nothing better than that. My films are competing with my own films and that is a great feeling,"Kareena told PTI.

'Bodyguard' netted over 100 crores in it's extended first week and 'Ra.One' may break the record with a much bigger release on the extended weekend of Diwali. With such commercial successes in her kitty, Kareena, 31,is well aware of the number game in Bollywood and says the commercial viability of a star is important.

"In this industry you are as good as your last film. Eventually it is all about the commercial viability of the stars. Bollywood is about entertainment; this is what sells here and we can't change that. In fact we must not try to change that and balance it all." (PTI)

WHY THE YANKEES NEED THE HUNGER AGAIN

It’s the off-season early for the New York Yankees and all of us Yankee fans are walking around aimlessly with nothing to do. Yes, we could watch the postseason without the Yankees, and yes, I’ve told you numerous times that if baseball is on, I watch, no matter who’s playing.

But let’s face it, this is October and the Yankees aren’t playing, and I don't want to watch. I want to scream like Mark Wahlberg in the Other Guys, I cannot take it. Sometimes I feel like the more we try to do things right, the more we screw them up. The Yankees need that hunger back and the fans are craving it.

The Yankees looked like scrubs out there as I reflect on the ALDS, with the exception of Jorge Posada and Brett Gardner and even Derek Jeter to some extent. Where was the hunger? Where were the bats? I firmly believe that hot teams move forward and it all has to do with momentum. I don't necessarily believe great teams win it all. I think great teams need to be hot to win it all. The Yankees were great with 97 wins going into the ALDS, but they weren't great and hot, plain and simple. Now all we’re doing is sitting in front of our computers, looking at Twitter and bitching at each other.

I long for the days when Steinbrenner would put out a press release, thanking the Yankee fans for their support and apologizing for failing to win it all. Then, weeks later, we’d go out and find the top free agent out there and all would be well in Yankeeland again, we would forget, just for the moment, that we blew it.

Time is running out for some of our icons. Yes, Jorge Posada was close to possibly getting a 5th ring, but we fell short. Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera are close to retirement; wouldn’t it be nice to get one for championship before they sail into the sunset? It would, for all of us.The pitching rotation will be a priority again this year, just like it is every year and while Cashman preached patience and picked up Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia and had lightening in a bottle, that charade won’t work this winter; fans get impatient, Yankee Brass gets impatient and I expect a big splash. Yes, Cashman needs to agree to a deal, but once that is done, CC Sabathia is next and then after what, who? I'm a fan of Mark Buehrle and I would love to get him, but who else? CJ Wilson? Matt Cain? Yu Darvish? Felix Hernandez?

Look, Felix is my top name after CC Sabathia. I’m not too big on “Pretty Boy” Wilson because I hate his pompous attitude. I’m also not sold on him. Matt Cain, yeah, he good, but we need him to be great. Yu Darvish…we’ve been through that Japanese pitching thing before. Felix Hernandez is the guy and if that means waiting until he’s a free agent, so be it; If it means being creative with you we unload for him, so be it. I have no desire to trade off someone like Jesus Montero for the King. After seeing him hit, it reminded me a hell of a lot like Miguel Cabrera. I can’t part with the guy.

Something needs to be done about Nick Swisher, Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira. Look, no doubt they are pissed that they didn’t deliver and they looked foolish in the ALDS, but let’s face it, they always do. 2009 is long gone, these guys get paid a fortune to perform, bottom line and October is the biggest show on earth, and they need to show up. They didn’t and it’s pathetic. If I’m the Yankees, I pick up Swisher’s option and I’m bringing in a bright young outfielder this spring and have him compete for Swisher’s job. Light a fire under Nick’s ass and let him know, no job is safe.

Alex is Alex and he’s owed a ton of money. You can’t eat his contract and you can’t trade him and the Yankees won’t, they want him to hit 700 and they want him the break the home run record in pinstripes... he’s not going anywhere. I also believe ARod wasn’t healthy and while nerves were a factor in the ALDS, he’s not better yet because of injury. Hopefully a long winter’s nap will heal this guy and in Spring 2012, he’ll be back.

Mark Teixeira seems to shrivel up at the wrong time...October. Not sure what happened to this guy. He’s a great hitter…when he hits, and I would never suggest we cut Tex lose for someone better, because; let’s face it, who’s better? Tex is one of the best defensive first basemen we’ve ever had; he just needs to get his swing tweaked by the King of Swing…Kevin Long. Maybe the pressure gets to Tex, who knows, but something‘s got to happen.

The Yankees hunger is gone while the hunger by the fans grows. We need something drastic, a shakeup… so we can stand up and say, “The Yankees put the best on the field and we will return to win it all.” Because, let’s face it, 1 championship in 11 years is not a dynasty, it’s average.

WHY THE RED SOX JUST GOT WHACKED

Look, I’m not going to sit here and kick a team while they’re down…well, maybe I will, after all it’s the Red Sox and I am no fan. But I’ve noticed an increase in media sniping of the Sox the past 24 hours and I like it. Yes, a report late last month suggested that the Sox were eating chicken and drinking beer during the final games of the season…DURING THE GAMES. USA Today, among others keeps the story going with the "startling details". Read it HERE.

Then there were reports that Terry Francona couldn’t control his team (read HERE), then suggestions that he was fired, then that he left on his own. And what does Theo Epstein do? Well, one thing he didn’t do was stick around. It appears he's taking the next bus to Chi-town and suddenly, Beantown is crumbling.

Let me tell you... I would never normally write a piece about the Boston Red Sox EVER unless it was needed, and with all the buzz about Theo Epstein jumping a sinking ship, I just wanted to offer a few logical pieces of opinion. It’s probably the nicest back handed compliment you’ll ever read so mark down this moment.

Theo Epstein is a smart man and while he brought the tools he needed to try and bring the Sox their 3 championship in 11 years, he failed, that being said, it was clear his time was up. Let’s not forget, the Yankees won only 1 World Series in 11 years; the Red Sox won 2 with Theo as their GM. Let’s also not forget that he’s a lethal weapon in baseball. In fact, he and Brian Cashman are both in my opinion geniuses and let’s not beat around the bush, having the money to spend, well, that helps a lot too. Theo will do wonders for the Cubs and I can see him helping them win it all, I have no doubt. But it shocked me the way he just left the team behind, all the while showing face like he actually gave a crap about his Sox team. Then, suddenly, he disappeared.

All that said, I’m glad Theo’s gone. He’s good at his job and it hurts the Red Sox badly and helps the Yankees immensely.

Secondly, let me say what isn’t said enough…Terry Francona is the classiest baseball guy around and while I hate the Red Sox winning anything.... even a carnival game, Francona deserved his 2 championships (that kills me to say.) Francona is well respected and I found it terrible that things ended the way it did for him. That too though, at the end of the day, hurts the Red Sox and for that, I thank the baseball Gods. Right now, the Red Sox have nothing but a bunch of overplayed players and controversy surrounding beer drinking while games are being played. Losing clearly is for losers.

All this turmoil will help the Yankees in 2012 and beyond. The Yankees may have lost the playoffs in 2011, but the Sox didn’t even get there and let’s face it, no one likes a loser. If the Sox want to complete, they need a leader, someone who Theo and Terry were before they lost control of their team. Luckily for us, all the reports are positive about the Yankees and Cashman's love for each other and if we can keep Cash, the Yankees are in the drivers seat.

It may be October with no Yankee baseball, but be positive and look beyond. As long as the Yankees keep winning next season and as long as the Red Sox keep crumbling, things will look pretty damn bright, and you can’t argue with that. I like my chances right now. Are you listening Las Vegas? Next time don't make odds in March... remember, a Red Sox / Phillies World Series? Who are you kidding?

ALEX RODRIGUEZ: REVIEWING OUR PROJECTIONS

  • Projected: 283 Avg, 37 Hrs, 116 RBI
  • 2011: .276 Avg, 16 Hrs, 62 RBI
OK, I hate to say it, but with injuries all bets are off. From the word "Go", ARod was locked in it seemed, as he was clobbering the ball all over the place, in Spring Training. But, ARod had a meniscus tear in his knee that he decided to have surgery on July 7 to repair, thus destroying his chances of having an MVP caliber season. Injuries have hindered ARod since he signed his 10-year contract, as he's landed on the DL in each of the last four seasons. You combine that with postseason failures in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, and now 2011, we now have a bunch of angry fans who want him out. But the reality is that we're just going to have to accept the fact that ARod still has six more years left on his ridiculous contract, and with $143 million left on that deal, along with extra salary bonus' after each milestone homer from number 660 until number 763, there is no way the Yankees eat his contract. You can read all of A-Rod's salary info at Baseball Reference.

Humaima Malik on new heights!

After giving an outstanding performance in her debut film ‘Bol’, model-turned-actress is ready to explore new heights in Bollywood.
The actress, who recently took part in Bridal Asia 2011, is currently in India and meeting directors and producers to grab decent Bollywood Projects.
However, the actress has totally made it clear she won’t do any item song at the stage of her career, but is really much interested in doing some reasonable Bollywood project.
We wish Humaima all the best for her Bollywood dreams and I hope she won’t turn out to be the next Veena Malik.

Veena Malik Steps for Noble Cause in India

After facing so many controversies, Pakistani actress Veena Malik has decided to do something noble. Veena Malik will sponsor the education and daily needs of an Indian child.
The Pakistani actress Veena Malik, paving her way to Bollywood, has now decided to sponsor the education of an Indian child. She will also provide her day to day needs and will regularly visit that child.
“It is of great responsibility to adopt a child and provide all basic needs therefore, I will sponsor the education and all needs of an Indian child”, Veena Malik explained during an interview in India.
Though this noble gesture of Veena Malik is admirable but is again disappointing for Pakistani children…

Style is Personal but Taste Isn’t ;Men of Rachel Zoe

The Rachel Zoe Project” consistently showcases why Rachel Zoe is the top celebrity stylist in Hollywood. Just as the trends in fashion change, so does Team Zoe. On this season of “The Rachel Zoe Project,” Zoe hires longtime friend Joey Maalouf and newbie Jeremiah Brent as her new stylists.

Zoe went through a public separation from her styling assistant Brad Goreski. Goreski told Zoe he wanted to spend more time with his boyfriend, but soon after leaving reportedly started going after Zoe’s clients.

Zoe was faced with the daunting task of replacing Brad. However after much contemplation, Zoe went with her gut and brought on Jeremiah Brent. After weeks of working for Team Zoe, Brent’s job is in jeopardy as Zoe and husband Rodger Berman try to find his place in the company.

Jeremiah’s background is in interior design, not styling. Throughout this season, he’s constantly had to prove himself in the fashion world; in his first week he was flown to New York to work on a showcase for Zoe’s own line. As if Brent didn’t have enough to worry about, he also has to deal Joey Maalouf, who’s skeptical of his styling ability.

Joey Maalouf is Rachel’s sassy and charismatic best friend, as well as personal hair and makeup stylist. During the show Maalouf risks it all and moves from New York City to Los Angeles with ambitions to work more closely with Zoe.

In an interview with TooFab’s Anthony Dominic, the newest members of Team Zoe, Jeremiah Brent and Joey Maalouf chat about competition in the workplace and even man tans. Check out the exclusive interview below:

TooFab: In your opinion, who is currently the best and worst dressed in Hollywood?

Joey: Worst: Everyone on “The Jersey Shore.” I can’t even believe people put them on a list. Their style is so fab, because they’re really true to themselves, which is what I love, but I don’t consider that fashion.

Best: Gwyneth Paltrow, Margherita Missoni, Anne Hathaway and Kate Moss. Naturally Paltrow has great style, on a day to day basis when she’s not with her stylist or on a red carpet. I love her style!

Jeremiah: Worst: Julianna Margulies at the Emmys. I didn’t know what was going on. It looked like her dressed was leaking, I just didn’t get it and I’ll never understand. It was like ice cubes were coming out of the dress and I didn’t know what to do. I felt uncomfortable; it was like her dress was crying. Worst dressed is hard because style is so personal, but taste isn’t. Sometimes I don’t know what is going on with these people. I’ve never seen the Jersey Shore so I can’t say, but they’re very tan.

Best: Cate Blanchett, I love Anne Hathaway obviously, Blake Lively’s style takes a risk sometimes and I love it, Zoe Saldana is another favorite, I think she looks amazing.

Joey: I’m so obsessed with being tan!

TooFab: If you had to get rid of everything in your closet except one piece what would you keep?

Joey: Oh that is a really hard question! Can I keep more then one thing? I have this slightly sheer black cashmere v-neck that literally fits me amazing and I’ve had it for about 8 years and I can’t get rid of it. It’s a really simple black Gucci cashmere sweater. My second item would be really slouchy black pants. I could be naked and wear a black piece and be fine.

Jeremiah: I have this vintage Ralph Lauren denim shirt that I wear probably more than I really should. I wear it almost every other day on the show, but it’s the one piece I don’t think I could get rid of. It’s like home to me. I am such a lesbian! Dior are my favorite jeans ever, and I have a pair that are 4-years-old and they are perfect and worn-in and I don’t thing I could give up those. So I’ll just be in a denim suit for the rest of my life!

TooFab: Now that you’re living in L.A. are you happy you made the change?

Joey: Oh my God, yeah! I feel that in New York you’re focused on working and networking and being out. You are constantly on the go and always around people. It’s funny but I don’t think I spent one second looking in the mirror or caring about what I looked like. I just threw on my basics everyday and my boots so I was comfortable running around the city. Now that I live in L.A. I feel like there is such a calm energy here and I have so much time to work out and eat well and take care of myself and walk around. That alone just gets me a good tan, and I do think the transition is great. I will always love New York and it will always be my heart but I am having a really good time enjoying the calm energy in Los Angeles. Most importantly I live right down the street from Rachel so I get to spend so much time with the baby, which is really exciting!

WHY SABATHIA WILL TEST THE MARKET

"I love it here. There's nothing like pitching in pinstripes. There's nothing like pitching in front of the fans in the Bronx. I've had a great experience.”

–CC Sabathia

CC Sabathia would be a fool to tell the world he’s coming back to the New York Yankees a few days after losing the ALDS and actually do it right on the spot. Why would you expect him to just rush into Cashman’s office and sign a contract? He has an opt-out clause, right? He has that opt-out clause for 1 good reason, so he can exercise it. That’s what players do.

It’s exciting to know that our big ace loves New York and yes, we can hang on every word but we need to sit back and let things unfold. The ALDS just ended, and the Yankees season is complete. Players are taking a few things from their lockers at the stadium the next few days and then they’ll go home, watch some football, enjoy the family and then the agent and CC will chat. No doubt, they will conclude that testing the market is the best way to go, why not? This is a 19 game winner and for the past 3 years he been a true Yankee ace... plus he has 1 World Series ring. So, they’ll see what’s out there and who has money to spend, and this in turn, will drive the price up for the Yankees and ultimately, at least in my heart, CC will come back and the Yankees will spend more than they wanted to have CC back with the ball club. Expect that to happen at the end of the winter sometime, I say, right before Christmas. Yes. CC will be back with the Yankees, but it's going to take a few months. Let’s face it, there’s no one else out there and the Yankees know it. I mean, CJ Wilson is not Sabathia... you know what I mean?

All will be great in Yankeeland again, but I’m positive weight will be an issue in CC's contract this time around as well as some type of agreement that CC needs to be treated with respect, meaning, no more 6-man rotation bullshit if it means sacrificing his starts to “try out” starters for rotation spots. I believe both factors affected CC down the stretch in 2011 and if his agent was smart, which I know he is, this will be a valid point for his client. Yes, the Yankees could do the 6-man rotation thing, but CC pitches on his regular rest, no matter what. Respect the man that brought the Yankees 59 wins in 3 years.

Look, my gut tells me CC Sabathia will be back in pinstripes, no doubt, but he’s got to go through the opt-out routine, that’s just the way it is.

JORGE POSADA: REVIEWING OUR PROJECTIONS

  • Projected: .245 Avg, 20 Hrs, 72 RBI
  • 2011: .235 Avg, 14 Hrs, 44 RBI
Look, we all know about Posada's season in 2011, it was a nightmare to say the least. First he was told that he would be the full time DH and that he wouldn't catch. He got off to a horrid start to his season by hitting .165 (18 for 109), with a 272 OBP, six homers--five of which coming in the first two weeks of the season--and 15 RBI up until May 13. The following day Posada was slated to hit in the number nine spot against the Red Sox, but he decided to pull himself out of the lineup, thus creating a slur of negative behavior by the media nationwide. Posada did have a nice rebound though, from the day after his incident until July 5 he hit .320 (33 for 103) with a .390 OBP while hitting three homers and driving in 13. From July 5 on he had his ups and downs with the bat, mostly downs, as he hit .227 the rest of the season. Along the way he played at second base for the final inning against the Oakland A's on August 25 at the Stadium. It was the first time Posada played second base at any level since 1991 when he was in Low-A Oneonta. Also, he caught the six final innings in Anaheim on September 10 replacing the injured Russell Martin.

Fortunately, Posada finished out his miserable season with a bang. He hit .429 in 14 at bats during five games in the ALDS against the Tigers. It could have very well been his last time putting on the Yankee pinstripes, thus we salute you Jorge Posada for your hard work, leadership, as well as persevering throughout all the tough times this season.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE FAMILY BALLPARK?

I think I've found the best family friendly ballpark out there, but let me back up and start at the beginning. Look, I’m no tight ass. I like the idea of attractive women at the ballpark, but I’ve noticed over the last 10 years that things have changed fan-wise…and maybe it’s because now my kids are with me to see what I see. Yes, the chanting of “A-hole” when an opposing fan walks down the aisle is the norm, and I can at least tell my kids not the repeat it, but what’s up with the attractive young woman with the low cut shirt showing off her “boys”? What’s going on with women fans holding signs that read “Jeter I want your baby. My kids can read, and they have questions…. Are you going to answer them? If I knew I was going to teach Sex Ed at the ballpark, I would have brought my former gym teacher along. It’s a little over the top, that’s all.

Look, I’m not judging, I know I have a job to do as a parent. I can choose not the go or explain what true fans are and let them be exposed to all of it to get the “real feel”, pardon the pun. But it’s true, I am a traditionalist and while I love wearing a Posada jersey to the ballpark, I’m not sure seeing male fans rip their shirts off and chanting “RED SOX SUCK” as it’s written on their back really works for me. Yes, The Red Sox DO suck, but the last thing I want to see is my kid doing that at a town football game weeks later. I long for the day when people actually dressed up to go to a ballgame once in a while. Those Sunday matinees with men wearing hats and women wearing sundresses. Yeah, that’s right; I’m actually 102 years old. Look, I’m sounding extreme, and it’s all to make a point.

Whatever happened to the “family” ballpark? What ever happened to bringing the kids to a game at a reasonable price, parking for $6 bucks and having a few hot dogs and a brew totaling $45? At least then you can get a souvenir. But No...

Instead, lately it’s the price of a mini-vacation and my son's asking me “Why is that girl dancing with her bra showing in that man’s lap?” That’s tough to defend; I’m not going to lie. Plus I’d really like to see that, but not with the kids around, maybe on pay per view.

I have to say, Yankee Stadium is not a bad place to bring your kids at all. It’s pretty family friendly and if a fan is unruly, security usually takes care of business right away and kicks them out. But it’s expensive. So, I went for it; I took my kids to a truly family friendly ballpark… Riverfront Stadium in Newark New Jersey...the Home of the Newark Bears. Not sure if you know the history, but the Newark Bears was a farm club of the Yankees in 1937 with names like Joe Gordon and later, Yogi Berra. Later on it was rejuvenated by former Yankee Rick Cerone and they brought in former major league players like Jose Canseco, Rickey Henderson and they’ve had managers like former Pirate Bill Madlock and currently, former Yankee and Expo, Tim Raines. I'm actually very interested in interviewing Mr. Raines because he's had such an incredible baseball career and I hope to have that for my Bleeding Yankee Blue readers.

But back to my point; a Newark Bears game is inexpensive and you see some pretty competitive ball being played. My kid loves baseball as you know and since we’ve been there, we’re looking forward to going back. The park is about as family friendly as it gets and there is plenty to do. If the kids get bored, you can walk around, they have a kids section, the mascots are out meeting the fans and they have something going on almost every half inning games... activities and other fun stuff.

Look, I love being at a pro ballpark, but half naked people and visible tramp stamps are too much to explain to my kids. All I’m asking for is a little courtesy. That’s it. I’m a true fan, I get it, but as I get older I can’t defend you all the time. Hey, that’s sports I guess. It’s just my opinion. But here’s another opinion, for a cheaper cleaner afternoon, check out the Newark Bears next spring, it’s a lot of fun. You can sit back, relax with the kids and you don’t have to worry about boobs, “F” bombs and going broke on a Sunday afternoon.Check out the Newark Bears... That’s the right way to go. Click HERE to find out about ticket information. I'll re-post this closer to the Bears opening day in 2012.

I love bikes, but not more than women: John

By Hindustan Times
John Abraham, who was recently in the capital for Van Heusen store launch, revealed all about his relationship status, chiselled body and of course his love for motorbikes and women.
John's action hero avatar
After Dhoom, I haven't done any action film. People asked me why you haven't attempted any action film when you have the physique and the body for it. Force is my answer to a lot of people out there who finally want to see the action hero. The film has great content, song, dialogues and screenplay.

Beefed up avatar
I have undertaken special training for this film. When we finalised the film, my director Nishikanth Kamath told me you have 8 months to build up a body that looks international, like a machine, like Sylvester Stallone. So with Force, we have tried to create a look that is unbelievable in terms of physique.

Every actor is visually fit today and has a presentable body. Cinema is a visual medium. I have always been fit, right from my first film Jism. Now there is a new concept of abs- 6 pack, 8 pack.
Similarity with original
When Vipul Shah showed me Kaakha Kaakha one-and-a-half years back, I really liked it. There's a lot of difference in this and the original. We have kept the romance portion same but we have converted it into an action film to a large extent.

Lifting a heavy bike
It was just a 110-120 kilos bike very honestly. ACP Yashwardhan is supposed to be like a machine, very powerful who can lift and break anything. That's my character in the film. That's why I had to lift the bike. You need cables to balance it but finally you need your strength to lift the bike and throw it. So yeah, I have thrown the bike. If someone upsets me, you know what will happen (laughs).

Message in Force
There's a lot of similarity between me and my character. He's a narcotic bureau officer, totally anti-drugs. Personally, I don't believe in drugs. People who do drugs are escapists. I want to tell my young audience that drugs are the most dangerous thing, more than smoking and drinking. Cocaine destroys your system completely. That's the message we want to give to through the film.

Your body is your temple. Eat right, work-out right. Don't do drugs. It's not fun, it's not right. A healthy lifestyle is very important.
Chemistry with co-stars
My chemistry with all my co-stars, be it Genelia (Force), Katrina (New York) or Vidya (Salaam-e-ishq), usually works onscreen. I have a sizzling chemistry with Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar also. Good chemistry is important for a good film.

Cop fever in B-Town
It's co-incidental that we are all playing cops in our films. A film is planned a long time back, so it's just a co-incidence that these films are releasing one after the other. Salman and Ajay's films have done unbelievable business and I hope that I can do at least decent business.

Movies in the pipeline
After Force, I'm doing a comic flick with Akshay- Desi Boyz (6 years after Garam Masala), Housefull 2 with Akshay again, Race 2 with Saif, another sequel Shootout at Wadala and I, Me Aur Main which is about a guy who loves himself more that he loves women. But I am not like that character.
Bikes or ladies
I love motorcycles but not more than women (laughs). Women are the most beautiful creation of mankind.
Enjoying singledom
I am happy that I have time by myself. When I get married, it'll be different. Hopefully I'll get married someday. Till then, I'm enjoying my space and time.
After I got into acting, I have not spent enough time with my parents. When we get busy with our careers or get into relationships, we don't give our parents enough time. So now I'm spending as much time with my parents as possible to make up for the lost time but you can never make up for it.
Every relationship in your life matures you as an individual. So now I'm a much more matured individual.
On terror attacks
If we look within our own country, there's a big terror problem. It happened in Delhi recently and in Mumbai before that. I hope the government is doing what they can. There are serious security lapses. The common man suffers the most. We have become insensitive to what is happening. We need to get serious about it and the government needs to pull up their socks. As individuals, we need to be serious and vigilant and look around. If you notice, after 9/11, there has been no attack in America. Can you imagine the level of security they have. Government and we as citizens should be more complacent.
On Van Heusen
When V Dot came to me, they knew what my personal statement is. The colours I'm wearing now, gray trousers and blue jacket, it's very understated and yet it makes a style statement. There have absolutely simple designs, some are bling but still they are very classy. I'm actually comfortable in what I'm wearing. And I wouldn't say that for a lot of other clothes and what other people wear. My whole wardrobe is by them.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Movie Sequel to Release In August 2012

Akshay Kumar hasn’t shot a single day for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 so far but the makers have plans to bring this underworld gaga right on schedule next Independence day weekend. Though there have been speculations around whether this is a wishful thinking or indeed a definite possibility, courtesy quite a few other assignments that he is currently engaged on, those close to Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria claim that the producer and the director are happily chanting the call of ‘all is well’.

“Both are currently busy on wrapping up The Dirty Picture but as soon as the film’s release is through, they would go heads down on kick-starting Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2. There is no need for anyone to panic because things are going entirely as per the plans”, says a source close to the duo, “In fact as we talk, the final version of the film’s script is being locked and a parallel hero (to Akshay) is being finalised. More than anyone else, Akshay is most excited about beginning work on the film. He is convinced that this is the one huge clutter-breaking film in his line-up.”

The speculations around the arrival time period of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 began when the release timing for Akshay’s another action entertainer Rowdy Rathore was announced last week. As the film would arrive in June while Akshay’s other film Housefull 2 has been pre-poned to April next year, many wondered if it would be too much too soon for Akshay to bring yet another film in August 2012.

“Akshay works quite fast on his films,” says a close associate of Akshay. “His films typically take 50-70 days to complete and Milan’s film won’t be any different. In fact what is also helping the makers further is the fact that the crew of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 as well as The Dirty Picture is nearly the same. This means that from a continuity perspective, everyone involved has to move from one film to another.”

This is exactly what’s allowing Milan to breathe easy as well. Though he is now going through reverse counting for the 2nd December release for his Vidya Balan-Emraan Hashmi starrer The Dirty Picture, the Balaji team is working simultaneously on the pre-production of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai so that there is a hassle-free beginning for one of the most keenly awaited sequels next year.

When contacted, Milan dismissed rumours surrounding the film and confirmed that it would indeed make it for 17th August release next year. “I always wanted to make films back to back to back without waste any time. Guess this time around all seems to be going as per plans. We have all dates blocked for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, start shooting next February and wrap it by April in more or less a single schedule. All is well”, he chuckles before signing off.

THE STATE OF THE YANKEES PITCHING

First, let me give you alittle Yankee pitching news. 3 names have moved on according to LoHud, read it HERE.

Aaron Laffey was apparently claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Royals. Scott Proctor elected free agency as did Raul Valdes.

Now, for other important stuff coming out of Yankeeland. The next logical target for the Yankees as far as starting pitching is concerned is the Rangers lefthander CJ Wilson in my opinion. Yes, the 2011 rotation did much better than anyone anticipated, but there is definitely a need for improvement, so why not “Pretty Boy” Wilson, as Casey calls him? CJ Wilson has improved on his 2010 breakout year, proving more than capable as the ace of the Rangers staff. He finished the season with a 2.94 ERA, 206 strikeouts (8.3 K/9), and a career high 223.1 innings pitched.

Adding Wilson behind CC, assuming CC Sabathia returns, would certainly give the Yankees the most dominant pair of lefties in the game, which could prove to be a valuable commodity when facing the lefty laden lineups of Boston (who despite collapsing, is still an excellent offensive team) and the Rangers. That said, I don’t see the Rangers letting CJ get away. Don’t forget, the Rangers lost out on the Cliff Lee sweepstakes too and have plenty of money sitting around to make sure he stays. Losing their ace in back to back off-seasons would be a PR nightmare, especially given the current free agent market. Sure, the Rangers could abandon CJ and make a run at Yu Darvish, but should they fail in that pursuit, they’re left with a staff led by… Derek Holland and Colby Lewis. And, could Neftali Feliz truly succeed in a starting role with only two pitches? As much as I’d like to have CJ Wilson, I don’t see him going anywhere. He seems to love playing in Texas and the fans love him back. Additionally, I don’t see how a 31 year old with all of 2 years experience starting in a division with the Athletics, Mariners, and Angels is a sure thing to perform in the AL East. If Yu Darvish doesn’t work out (Read WHY I’LL CONVINCE YOU ON YU), I’d go for CJ.

Clearly, Manny Banuelos is another lefty that could prove reliable and dominant for the Yankees, very possibly in 2012. And speaking of Banuelos, what do we do with those other B’s? If their performance in AAA is any indication of how they’ll look at the beginning of next year, Betances and Banuelos should be given a chance to make the rotation out of Spring Training and boot Phil Hughes to the bullpen, but more than likely they need to be sent back to Scranton Wilkes-Barre (or I guess Rochester seeing as they’ll playing most of their “home” games there next season) and given their chance to dominate.

As for Andrew Brackman, I say he should be in the bullpen on Opening Day 2012, ready to work late innings. He proved last season that he has huge flaws as a starter, but towards the end of the season, he was an utterly dominant setup man for the Yanks’ AAA affiliate. His fastball + power-curve combo works fantastically out of the bullpen, and adding him into a bullpen with Joba Chamberlain, Rafael Soriano, David Robertson, and Mariano Rivera would pretty much a guarantee that the Yankees have the best bullpen in baseball for the second year in a row.
If all went according to my plan, we’d have a rotation resembling Sabathia, Darvish, Ivan Nova, Phi Hughes, AJ Burnett for Opening Day, and as the season progresses, I believe Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances could both try their hardest to beat out the latter three. That’s a damn nice 1-2-3, and if Hughes maintains the form he displayed in the end of the season, he’ll be one of the better 4th starters in the game.

Finally, an important part to all of this is an extra lefty in the Yankees bullpen. Casey has been ranting about the need for an extra one in the pen, and he’s right. Boone Logan is a fine relief pitcher, but a lefty specialist he is not. We were all set for Pedro Feliciano to be our hero, but his entire career may be in jeopardy, so forget about depending on him in 2012. Damaso Marte was never any good, except of course the 2009 postseason, but let’s face it, that was 2009. I’m not sure who’s out there, but it has to be done.

Look, at the end of the day, I have a plan, it may not be perfect or realistic to some, but in my opinion, I think it could work. Do you agree, maybe disagree? You can comment… let me know what you would do.
